Kyla's Happiness

Today, I attend a Pag-Ibig seminar for it is a requirement in getting housing loan to them. I was late but I understand what they discuss because my neighbors Darms relay it to me. They have a good program in housing loan which is affordable to everyone if they will pay their monthly contributions.

After the seminar, Darms wants to go DCLA to see what’s new in there. I saw the stickers that Kyla wants. It is cheaper compared to shopping malls. I bought a DORA sticker, Winnie the Pooh and the Princess like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella. I also bought a cell phone toy that has sounds. She was very happy and she thanked me. She kisses and hug me. My little daughter Kyla is so sweet and loving.

Kyla at Tagaytay

This picture taken when we are in Tagaytay, it’s a nice place for when you are there. You are in because of the cold wind there. This place is for relaxation over a stressful job you are encountering everyday. If you want to breathe a fresh air and feel the cold wind then I suggest that you visit Tagaytay. Its perfect place I’ve been.

Teething Tips

There are lots of ways you can ease the discomfort of teething.

Of course, as well as these methods, a big cuddle can work wonders.

Source: Calpol

I found this tips on the internet. I remember when my daughter experience teething she cannot eat because of the pain. She had a fever at 37 degrees celcius. I let her took a medicine. I gave her a paracetamol. I'm so worried because she had no appetite at that time.

Kyla at Max's

maxsKYLA

I took this photo last month when we are in Manila for a summer vacation. I let Kyla pose at Max’s Chicken for a remembrance because the branch here in Davao doesn’t click to Dabawenyos for it is costly. We order a half fried chicken, kare-kare and ampalaya with beef. I’m so full that evening for I am the one who finish Kyla’s food. We had a great dinner that evening then we headed to MUSICBOX.

Playful Kyla

When we are about ready to go to church for Wednesday Prayer meeting, Kyla went to our neighbors house. Then, after a few minutes she cried loud. It is because she fall and her head was hit by the wood. Oh my gosh! She has “bukol” in her head. I keep her calm and ask her to stop crying. I dressed her up because we are late in our service. She is really so playful and that sometimes she cannot control herself. The result is that she makes “gaya” of the things her playmate does. But she is 3 years old..

PBB Pose

KylaPBB

After our long day at Manila Zoo, we headed to the original “Pancit Malabon” to fill in our empty stomach. Then, we proceed to Pinoy Big Brother House. I let Kyla pose there for a remembrance that we visit the PBB House though we are outside his house..hehe. It looks small outside but it’s big inside. That stage was use every Saturday every time they are live. I wish we can enter Big Brother’s House someday. I’m dreaming.

Kyla is Playful

Kyla loves to play here in my mom’s house. She has so many friends here than in our home. My mom agreed that her friends will go inside our lawn rather than going outside because we are afraid of dogs. I’m afraid that dogs will bite her for it is near to mom’s house. I don’t want to happen that because hubby will surely hit me. And that hearsay that anti-rabies vaccine is so expensive. That is why her granny look at her always of where she is.

Kyla in Manila Zoo

kyal01
This photo taken when we are in Manila Zoo, we are in horse back riding area. I want to try horse back riding there together with my daughter Kyla. But Kyla was afraid and she doesn’t want to have horse back riding. There are a lot of kids there that were brave enough to ride on a horse. Someone will assist them so that they can control the horse.

Then, I saw this “kalesa” with no wheels. It is just a display there. And so I let Kyla post there.

You can read more here..

Congrats Pris..

My best friend in High School Priscilla has a new baby boy. I want to congrats her for being such a good mom to my soon to be grandchild. I’m so happy for her and excited to visit her in the hospital on July. I got envy with her for she has 1 girl and 1 boy. I hope my second child will be a boy. But not now for I have priorities right now that is very necessary for us and it needs funds. It’s secret for now..hehe..

Kyla's mood today..

So sad we are late in our morning service in our church today. Kyla was late on her Sunday school classes. I decided not to go to her classroom and will hear God’s word instead. Kyla wants to go inside her classroom but I told her not to go there because we are so late and so shame to go inside. She was irritated and go to her granny’s sit in the front.

Kyla's Fav!!!

munchkinsKyla likes to eat munchkins of Dunkin Donuts. She demands to me to buy her a munchkin. After my online job interview at Bastis Brew together with my hubby, I and hubby headed to our small business in Magallanes. I am hungry that time and so I need to send my new resume to the one that interviewed that day. Then, I told hubby that I will go home because I am sleepy and that Kyla will find me. I drop by to Dunkin Donut and buy a 12 pieces of munchkins and 4 Donuts for my mom. I know Kyla will be happy and she expects for this. After that I went home.

Making a mess

It takes time to develop the fine motor skills required to eat neatly with a knife and fork. Don’t assume that your child is deliberately being messy when they eat, since guiding food to the mouth without any spills is tricky for a toddler. Suggestions include:
eating

  • Find out about the stages of child development, so that you don’t expect too much of your child.
  • Plan for the mess by putting a plastic sheet under the highchair.
  • Present the foods in easy-to-eat ways, such as cut into strips or fingers.
  • Allow your child to eat with their hands rather than a knife and fork.
  • Say something like ‘food is for eating’ or ‘are you finished?’ if your child throws food.
  • Do not pay attention to the food on the floor; pick it up when the meal is finished.
Source: Better Health

** I like this article because my daughter Kyla is now in the process of eating by herself. When she use spoon, she carefully put it in her mouth. She follows what I did to her because I don’t want a mess though it’s natural for toddlers. Kyla see to it that there’s no food on the floor. I learn a lot from this article. **

Sitting down to eat

Toddlers are curious and energetic, which makes them run around and want to explore. Sitting down for any length of time is an effort for a young child. Some toddlers do most of their eating on the run, refusing to sit down at the table at all.

Apart from being antisocial, eating while running around increases the risk of choking. Suggestions to get your child to sit down at mealtimes include:

  • Accept that behaviour changes take time and effort. Be patient and calm.
  • Discuss your plan of action with your partner and other carers so that your approaches are consistent.
  • Be a good role model. Don’t let your child see you walking around the house while eating.
  • Establish a predictable mealtime routine to help your child remember that they are required to sit down at an appropriate table without distractions such as TV.
  • Turn the television off.
  • Don’t fight over the issue of sitting down at mealtimes. Concentrate on making mealtimes fun and enjoyable so that your child is more likely to want to stay at the table. For example, involve your child in family discussions.
  • Talk about it with your child in a calm and reasonable way, explaining why it is best to sit down when eating. You may need to have this conversation many, many times.
  • Tell your child that their meal is over when they leave the table. Take away their plate. If they are hungry later, offer them a healthy snack.
  • Be consistent. Insist that snacks are also eaten while sitting down.
  • Compliment your child whenever they show the desired behaviour.
  • Be realistic about the timing of meals – for example, don’t schedule mealtimes for when your child is overtired.
Source: Better Health

** That is true that some toddlers are hard to sit when they eat. They sometimes run and you will chase them outside just to let them eat their meal. I thanked for my Kyla for she is will just sit down when its meal time. She will sit on the dining set with us and I let her eat. I have no difficulties in meal time because she eats well. **

Kyla is really..

Kyla is a keen observer child because she comments to those children she saw in the jeepney. Just like yesterday a child wears a diaper and she said “Ako hindi na ako nagdadiaper”. My mom and the child’s mom connect its eye for they were shocked of what Kyla said. We just simply laugh and the child’s mom reasoned out that she only put diaper on her child when they are traveling. Then, I asked her how old her child was. She said that it’s 4 years old. Kyla is only 3 years and I stop her wearing diaper when she is 1 year and a half I guess. I trained her earlier to use potty training so that she would not weewee on the bed. I am happy that Kyla is responding to what I teached her. She is a smart child.

Good table manners

Suggestions include:

  • Involve your child in setting the table.
  • Lead by example and show good table manners yourself.
  • Your child may feel more inclined to copy your behaviour if you promote them to a ‘big’ chair rather than their highchair. Give them the same kind of place setting as yours but don’t give them sharp cutlery.
  • Explain why table manners are important, including the difference between eating a casual meal at home and being at a formal restaurant or grandma’s house.
  • Point out the advantages of good table manners. For example, it is difficult for your child to make themselves understood if they are talking with their mouth full.
  • Remind your child gently when their manners slip, but don’t make an issue out of it.
Source: Better Health

**
I thank God for these tips because I can be able to teach my daughter Kyla for having good table manners. It’s important that you teach your children in table manners so that when they grow they know what to do when they are in the table. But you as a parent must be a good example to them so that they will follow you. Kyla is now starting to eat on her own and she wants to sit on the dining set. I must slowly teach her now for her to know the good table manners. **

Excited for schooling

schooling

I saw a streamer in some of the preschools in our subdivision that they have toddlers for ages 2 to 3. I want Kyla to go to school early but my mom disagree because she is still little girl and so she wants to play. Maybe by next year it is the right time for her to go to school. Gee! I am so excited! I am starting to save my money for her schooling because I know it is costly. But I am excited to buy her a school shoes, notebooks, pencils and etc. I can’t wait but will count the months and will be busy working to earn much as I could for her schooling. I want to be prepared because I want to give the best to her.

Kyla's nail polish

nailpolish
My daughter Kyla is so excited to go to our church. She missed her Sunday school classmates so also her teacher Maam Vivian. My god child LJ sits besides her and ask why she was absent for a month. Kyla replied that she was on vacation in Manila in her grandma’s residence. She shows to LJ and some of her classmates her nail polish done by her Tita Hannah. It’s unique because it has designs of a footstep. My daughter is so “maarte”. She inherit it to her Tita..hehe..

Papa's Girl

Last night hubby and my daughter play in our room. They missed each other. It is because she is Papa’s girl. I went outside to eat “sapin-sapin” for my dinner and then when I go back to our room. They are sleeping with an embrace position. I’m so happy of what I saw because they are very sweet to each other. Just imagine they are away for 45 days. Hubby loves Kyla so much and so sometimes he got angry with me when I scolded her. Gee! I am Papa’s girl too. LOL!

I missed Davao entirely..I’m so weird but it’s true. And now I am going back to my normal world. I am back to my long hours work at home. Yepey! I can sleep at night together with my family.

Kyla missed her SS

Kyla missed her Sunday School so much. She missed her teacher Maam Vivian, Pastor's wife. Then, if sometimes I remember the Bible Stories that their teacher taught to them. I relay to her and I'm glad she listens to me. She was absent in her Sunday School for 45 days. It helps her memorize some verses in the Bible and also some action song. I'm so proud of her. I thanked God for she also loves children.

They misses her

I'm pretty sure that hubby will be surprise because Kyla gains weight and I think she increase in height. Whenever I call hubby, she will sing and will say "I love you Papa".

My mom always text me "Kumusta na si Kyla?". People in Davao misses her because she is a "little girl" in the family. She is the first grandchild of both families.

We will go home soon. I'm so excited for that day!

I must teach her now..

Making Friends

As toddlers learn more about themselves and their abilities, they become aware of their social setting. With frequent opportunities for group experiences, they gain an awareness of others and a sense of group identity. Daily group-time incorporates a number of activities, such as songs, games, stories, and more.

* I surf on the net regarding toddler’s issue on their first day in school. I am so excited for my daughter Kyla to go to school next year. I am planning to get her a summer class so that it will be easy for her for the first day in school. I am beginning to teach her about the alphabet and numbers by identifying it. I hope and pray that she can catch up easily though it’s hard to teach them because they are still playing. I will take time and practice long patience for her to learn. *

7 reasons babies cry..

baby-cryingWhy does babies cry?I surf on the net because I want to know the reasons. Sometimes I'm afraid and think that she has heart disease that's why the baby cry. I found that there are 7 Reasons babies cry at BabyCenter.com.

1. I need food
Hunger is the most common reason a new baby will cry.
2. I need to be comfortable
Babies will very sensibly protest if their clothes are too tight or if a soiled nappy is bothering them.
3. I need to be warm - and not too hot or too cold
Some newborns hate having their nappy changed or being bathed.
4. I need to be held
Some babies need a great deal of cuddling and reassurance
5. I need a rest
It is easy to assume that babies will fall asleep whenever they need to, wherever they are, simply because so many of them do.
6. I need something to make me feel better
If you've fed your baby and checked that she's comfortable, but she's still continuing to cry, you may wonder if she is ill or in pain.
7. I need something ... but I don't know what
Sometimes you might not be able to figure out what's wrong when your baby cries.

Source:
Baby Center

I found this article at Baby Center and now I know why the babies cry. Babies cannot talk and so you want to know why they cry. Sometimes the Mothers will be afraid especially when the babies cry so loud. You want to know if there's something wrong with them. You want to know their condition. It's so hard if the babies are sick you cannot sleep because you are worried.

Riding on Kalesa

We wake up early today for we will stroll again. I need to go to 168 Shopping Mall to buy a “pasalubong” for my family. We will go home next week. I am so excited because I missed everyone in Davao.

We had a chance to ride in a “Kalesa”. Then, the fare is only ten pesos each person. Oh no! I pity on the horse because I know we are heavy. Kyla had fun riding but she will say “kawawa naman ang horse Mama”. The horse will also stop when it is traffic and they are smart for they obey their master though “pinapalo sila para tumakbo”.

Next year's plan

My bf in High School text me last week that her second baby is a boy. Wow! I got envy for I want to have a baby boy for my second pregnancy. I hope and pray that God will answer our prayers. He will give us a baby boy next year. I am so excited!

But Kyla wants a baby girl. I told her that she will be called “Ate” by her baby boy sibling. Our plan is only 2 children and so we want a girl and a boy. Maybe it will happen next year and by next year Kyla will be schooling.

Smart Kyla

kyla2Yesterday, we went to Munoz for dental check up of my sister in law. Kyla is so talkative and the dentist likes her so much. The dentist asks how old she was. Then, mom in law answered, she is 3 years old. The dentist was amazed of her for her child is 2 years old but then she cannot speak and still wears a diaper. Kyla will use the comfort room now every time she “wee-wee at popo”. She teases Kyla if it’s okay for her to bring her to teach her child to speak. Well, it depends upon the mom because I am a full time mom to my child. When she turns 1 she can slowly walk and I train her to use the potty until she doesn’t want to use the diaper. She is not bedwetting right now. I thanked God for that for she is so smart.

Brushing her teeth

Your child's teeth will include 20 primary teeth - ten at the top and ten at the bottom. Even if your baby has only one or two teeth, they need to be looked after properly. Make sure you brush your baby's teeth as soon as they appear, and try to get into a routine of brushing them twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime.

You should use a smear of fluoride toothpaste on a small toothbrush for your baby. Baby toothpaste may have a nicer taste, but doesn't offer as much fluoride protection. Check with your family dentist if in doubt of which toothpaste to choose.

Set a good example - your baby will learn about good teeth hygiene by watching you brush your own teeth.

SOURCE: www.bbc.uk

* My child uses COLGATE toothpaste with a bubblegum flavor. I try other fruit flavor for her but she doesn't like the taste. I always tell her that we should brush her teeth so that she will be more beautiful. I am happy because every time I take her a bath. She will remind me to brush her teeth. As a parent, we should introduce teeth hygiene to prevent "bulok" in her teeth. *

at SM Mall of Asia..

SM Mall of Asia is the biggest shopping mall in the Philippines. It is located in Manila Airport. We had fun strolling there yesterday. It is true that you need 3 days before you can see all that is in there. My daughter is so excited of going there and so she never sleeps in the car. Obviously, the branded store there is for the elite and celebs because it is so expensive and I can't afford it. I just bought a blouse at Genevieve Gozum there with unique design and fits to me.

I will post our photo here later..

Riding and Strolling..

Indeed, we ride at MRT yesterday. My daughter was afraid and don't want to ride on the train. Gosh! There are so many passengers and so we have no choice but to stand. One of the passengers let Kyla sit beside her. When the train stops on every station, Kyla will say "Ayoko na, baba na ako". I and sis in law just laughed at her because she thought she is just riding on a circus rides..hehe. I enjoy riding at MRT though we had a hard time on where to go down. Mom in law looked for us for about 30 minutes due to "mali ang baba namin dapat sa right side, dretso kami sa left". I can't really walk alone here in Manila for it is really a big city.

After riding at MRT. We headed at SM Mall of Asia then we saw the Manila Bay. It's really a nice place ever.

Bahay Ni Lola (Grandma's House)

If big brother has his big house, my grandma has her own grandma’s house too. Done last April, her house was carefully designed by her son’s architect friend. Even on the interiors, my grandma has her own personal touch when it comes to accessories used. At this time, she was looking for a window blinds that fits to her taste. In my willingness to help my grandma look for her window blinds, I found beautiful products at selectblinds.com. Variation of colors and sized were available at it. After choosing the right window blind for her house, we immediately ordered the goods online through their website. Selectblinds.com has a very great offer to their clients, one of it was the “BillMeLater”, you can enjoy 90 days with no payment upon purchase. It is like a risk free In-Home Trial for the products you have just ordered. And the deal that I love the most from them was their Lifetime Warranty to their products. So for people that are looking for window blinds, visit selectblinds.com.

Last Thursday we went to SM North for food shopping. We saw cheap pens at the grocery plus some notebooks. My daughter Kyla saw a DORA notebook. Gosh! She shouted and she is crazy with DORA. Mom in law bought to notebooks. It is one for MIL and the other one is for Kyla. We had fun strolling at SM North. It was a big mall as compared to SM Fairview. Then, we went home so tired for our feet is aching due to walking there for almost 4 hours or more.

Teaching Values to our Kids

* Household chores - If you ask your child to perform certain household duties such as taking out the trash or cleaning his or her bedroom, show your child how to do it (the behavioral steps) and clearly explain your expectations. When children know how to complete a task and take care of their personal belongings, they learn what it means to act responsibly.
Picture(25)
    * Nightly homework - Study time at home should be part of your child's weekly routine. Set clear expectations for completing homework (assignments must be done before watching TV or playing a game). When children do what they are supposed to do, even when they don't feel like doing it, they develop character.

    * Meal time - Sitting around the dining table should involve much more than breaking bread. Whether you're reminiscing about your youth or your child is discussing the events of the day, family "table talk" is for sharing and relationship building. You'll be surprised at how many of the stories serve as metaphors about values, discipline and character. Point those lessons out to your children so they can relate true-life events to those abstract ideals.

As you see, the everyday moments of life offer opportunities for us to teach children positive values. However, all the teaching in the world can be undone if our kids watch us behave in ways that contradict everything we've said. If you want your children to learn honesty and sincerity, then be truthful and act kindly.

Source: Parenting

** This is an interesting article because it is all about how to teach your children a proper VALUES. It is necessary nowadays to teach our children about this so that they will be knowledgeable in all things. They must know the household chores so that they can help us in cleaning the house. We must also teach them that they have to study because it is their responsibility as a student. As a parents, we must teach them so that they will know how to apply Values in their lives. **
