Getting babies to sleep can sometimes seem like a Herculean undertaking. One crucial part of the equation is knowing when your own baby is getting tired, then taking advantage of that moment to put the baby down to sleep. Yawning is, of course, one indication. But there are many others that might not be as obvious. Some babies rub their eyes, pull their ears or twirl their hair around their fingers. One expert reported hearing from a mother whose baby would simply stare off into space. Initially, the mother thought the baby was bored and would try to entertain her. It turned out the baby was simply tired. Recognizing each baby’s unique way of indicating that they need sleep is a big step towards helping them get the rest they need.

** I remember when Kyla will yawn. She is sleepy in that time. Sometimes she gets irritated easily because she wants to sleep. But she is naughty because she will play so that she can’t sleep. After a couple of minutes she will lie down to the bed and sleep. Gee! She is really a smart kid because she makes a way to be not of sleep early. **
